Job Summary: Responsible to perform the duties of Maintenance Technician. Support the Operations Manager with ensuring repairs are done properly and that preventative maintenance is completed accurately and in a timely fashion. Ensure effective repairs on Hexagon Purus LDC North America’s equipment and machinery. Responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing with maintenance equipment and set-up per Hexagon Purus LDC North America Process Specifications and other work instructions as directed.
- Ensure preventative maintenance items are completed correctly and on time.
- Provide maintenance support as needed.
- Communicate to Operations Manager and other leads about issues from the previous shift(s) whether resolved or unresolved.
- Communicate with production supervisors to arrange maintenance activities and to update status on repairs to equipment.
- Ensure proper documentation is completed accurately to expedite repairs and provide future reference.
- Ensure effectiveness of repairs to equipment and machinery. Assist in the training, implementation and creation of procedures related to repair or safety procedures.
- Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs completed by other mechanics.
- Perform routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage.
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage.
- Work on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
- Maintain the building HVAC equipment.
- Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
- Complete routine scheduled maintenance.
- Comply with safety programs, policies and guidelines to ensure clean, orderly and safe working conditions.
- Comply with Company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of repair procedures and operation of manufacturing equipment.
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage issues.
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees of the building in a professional manner.
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes or the ability to acquire information about these processes to ensure repairs don’t affect product.
- Ability to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
- Ability to use test and measurement equipment for flow, pressure, current, voltage, and dimensional analysis.
- Ability to maintain records regarding material, equipment, and repairs accurately.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and conversions.
- Knowledge of PLC control and simple control circuitry, with the ability to revise and maintain such systems.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste handling.
- License/training to operate fork lift truck
- Have passed all required safety training.
- Demonstrate the ability to correctly troubleshoot problems and make repairs to facilities/production equipment with minimum support.
- Proven ability to consistently specify accurate replacement parts for repairs made on facilities/production equipment and fill out proper documentation to obtain such.
- Computer software proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and work independently
- Willing to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
Education, Certifications and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or an equivalent degree (GED) required, technical degree a plus.
- A minimum of five years of experience performing or assisting skilled trade workers in the mechanical or electrical trades preferred.
