As the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the operational manufacturing processes at our electric vehicle manufacturing facility. This key leadership position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in engineering, extensive manufacturing operations management experience, and a proven track record of success in the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and champion the organizations safety programs to ensure a secure working environment for all employees with safety as a first priority.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Product Quality:
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to maintain and improve product quality standards.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce defects.
- Manufacturing Throughput:
- Optimize production workflows to maximize manufacturing throughput while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements to enhance overall productivity.
- Logistics and Inventory Management:
- Oversee logistics and inventory processes to ensure timely delivery of components and finished products.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
- Site Culture and Team Leadership:
- Foster a positive and collaborative site culture focused on innovation, integrity, and excellence.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the operations team, promoting professional development and employee engagement.
- Operations Management:
- Manages budget and financial resources to maximize operational success
- Analyzes data and generates reports to inform decision-making processes and develop business strategies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of progressive experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and improving manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, quality control, and production optimization.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Experience in the electric vehicle or automotive industry is a significant advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and above average MS Office skills
- Valid passport with ability to travel internationally.
Work Environment:
This position requires the employee to wear a full face respirator. As part of the PPE standards of the respirator the employees must be clean shaven.
The employee is moderately required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
This position may work in the plant and outdoors in the field, therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes to include extreme cold and heat. The work described while working in the plant or field will require wearing all PPE depending on circumstance which may include safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, leather gloves, safety vest and steel toed boots.
We anticipate this position will pay a salary range of $100-140k. The compensation posted is a guide and may not represent the final amount offered to a candidate. Compensation will be based on candidate skills, qualifications, and overall experience level.
Compensation at Hexagon Purus includes base salary, comprehensive benefits package, variable annual bonus target, and 6% RRSP match.
